A. Working Through an Order Set

You have gotten your H&P and the medical reconciliation done! You have one last thing before you sign out for the day. Since Mr. Gomez will be going into surgery to have his gallbladder removed, you write an order to make him NPO (nothing by mouth) for the morning.  You explain to Mr. Gomez that you are stopping all of his oral medications prior to the surgery and you will talk with him about restarting his dietary supplements after the surgery. But you still need to order labs. What labs do you need for him prior to surgery?
