Early Career Faculty

Individuals within the first years of their faculty appointments who have not yet been promoted and/or tenured. 

Examples: 

  • Assistant Professors (tenure track) within their first seven years and pre-tenure. 
  • Lecturers within their first years of teaching prior to applying for senior lecturer. 
  • Clinical Assistant Professor

Mid-Career Faculty

Faculty members who have passed the probationary period in their discipline and been promoted and/or awarded tenure. 

Examples: 

  • Associate Professors (non-tenure or tenure) who have been promoted from Assistant Professor status. 
  • Senior Lecturers promoted from the Lecturer rank. 
  • Clinical Associate Professor

Senior Career Faculty

Faculty members with significant teaching and research experience, and distinguished accomplishments, who have been promoted within their disciplines and are within 10 to 12 years of retirement.

Examples: 

  • Full Professors (non-tenure or tenure)  
  • Master Lecturers 
  • University Professors
