Myles Standish Hall – Construction Activity – 5/6/17 – 5/12/17
For 5/6/17 to 5/12/17:
Deliveries – Subcontractors will receive deliveries all week between 7 a.m. and 6 p.m. on both Beacon Street and Bay State Road.
Onsite Construction
Saturday Work – 5/6/17
- Work on valance units – Upper floors
- Waterproofing work on staging – Bay State Road
- Clean up and loadout – Bay State Road
- Floor mitigation – 1st floor
Verizon Off-Hours Work – 5/7/17 to 5/11/17
- Verizon has informed us that they will be working on site from 7:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. from Sunday to Wednesday. Verizon’s work is unrelated to the project.
Fire Alarm Testing – 5/8/17 to 5/12/17
- The electrician will continue running a test of the fire alarm system on the construction-side of Myles. During this time, the strobe lights will be going off and minimal sound will be emitted through the speakers, as needed. The work is expected to continue intermittently until 5/12/17. Please do not contact the Boston Fire Department during the testing. BFD will be notified in the event of an emergency.
Demolition/Loadout
- Load out at Beacon Street and Bay State Road – Load out demolition debris from 1st floor to dumpster with ongoing daily dumpster swaps
- Demolition of boiler room – Load out on Bay State Road
- Begin demolition of balcony and flagpoles – Bay State Road
Masonry Restoration (Exterior – Bay State Road and Beacon Street)
- Remedial restoration work off of fraco and swing staging – Bay State Road
- Continue with masonry restoration – Beacon Street
- Continue with installation of windows
- Continue with restoration work – Annex alley
Roof (Exterior)
- Continue working on new units and insulation
Site Utility Work
- Continue utility work on Bay State Road
- Start sidewalk restoration
