Photonics Center Colloquium Room, 9th Floor, 8 St. Mary's St.
BU faculty: join us on May 7, 2026, from 10 am - 1 pm in the Photonics Center Colloquium Room for this year’s Inclusive Pedagogy Symposium: Belonging by Design as we explore how we, as educators, can move beyond theory to practice, creating environments where every student feels seen, valued, and empowered. At the heart of every academic journey is a sense of belonging. For many students, the classroom is where that connection is forged. We will dive into how being mindful and intentional in our interactions directly correlates with student success and well-being. This event will feature faculty from across BU’s schools and colleges who will share their insights and experiences of active engagement in this work. You will hear from leaders who are creating a variety of educational approaches today, aimed at intentionally creating belonging in the classroom. The session will be facilitated by Megan Sullivan, Faculty Director of Inclusive Pedagogy at the Institute for Excellence in Teaching and Learning, and Associate Professor in the College of General Studies.
