Rosella is currently a Visiting Fellow at the Clements Center for National Security at UT Austin and a Non-Resident Fellow at the Krulak Center for Innovation &amp; Future Warfare at Marine Corps University. <span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #333333;\"><span>Waging war is a massively complicated undertaking. Soldiers need food. Guns need ammunition. Vehicles need fuel. Weapons need repair. Supplying these resources is a challenge for any single state.\u00a0\u00a0But the challenges of logistics \u2013 ensuring timeliness, avoiding misallocations of resources \u2013 and economic mobilization \u2013 avoiding inflation and minimizing civilian hardship \u2013 are magnified when multiple states fight together as a coalition. This was most evident during World War I, where the allied countries of Britain, France, and Italy struggled to ensure their civilians and soldiers were fed. Their solution was to experiment with creating international economic organizations that could address their cooperation and coordination problems.
