{"id":10850,"date":"2021-02-28T18:35:39","date_gmt":"2021-02-28T23:35:39","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/european\/?p=10850"},"modified":"2021-03-09T12:25:04","modified_gmt":"2021-03-09T17:25:04","slug":"italy-and-greece-two-case-studies-for-chinese-involvement-in-southern-europe-04-16-21","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/european\/2021\/02\/28\/italy-and-greece-two-case-studies-for-chinese-involvement-in-southern-europe-04-16-21\/","title":{"rendered":"Italy and Greece: Two Case-Studies for Chinese Involvement in Southern Europe (04\/16\/21)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Pardee School of Global Studies at Boston University<span>\u00a0is hosting a virtual conference series titled<\/span><span>\u201cAssessing China\u2019s Belt and Road Initiative\u201d<\/span><span> to examine the economic, social, political, and security impacts of China\u2019s Belt and Road Initiative (BRI).\u00a0<\/span>Since the BRI cuts across regions and topics, all seven of the Pardee School\u2019s regional and thematic centers are sponsoring events related to their particular focus, including book launches, talks, and interviews.<\/p>\n<p>Tthe Center for the Study of Europe is delighted to contribute to this issue with a presentation by Philippe LeCorre on \u201cItaly and Greece: Two Case Studies for Chinese Involvement in Southern Europe.\u201d Le Corre is a <span>Research Fellow with the Mossavar-Rahmani Center for Business and Government and the Ash Center for Democratic Governance and Innovation at the Harvard Kennedy School.
