Pardee School of Global Studies<\/a>\u00a0in the College of Arts &amp; Sciences, is available to students enrolled in any of BU\u2019s four-year undergraduate schools and colleges.<\/p>\n<p>Boston University\u2019s European Studies Program combines a unifying regional focus with a multidisciplinary approach, enabling students to bring together courses that develop their language skills; social, historical, and cultural knowledge; and political, economic, and international relations expertise.\u00a0The six-course interdisciplinary minor draws on the resources of the College of Arts &amp; Sciences (CAS) departments and on Boston University Study Abroad\u2019s many programs in Europe. Students study Europe\u2019s\u00a0cultural heritage; its political, economic, military, and religious histories; its literature, music, film, and philosophy; and its emergence and development as a new kind of international form through the European Union.<\/p>\n<h3>Requirements<\/h3>\n<p>Students minoring in European Studies select six principal 4-credit courses from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/european\/academics\/courses\/\">the lists of courses by track\u00a0<\/a>, including at least two in the Humanities, at least two in the Social Sciences, and a multidisciplinary capstone course normally taken in the senior year.<\/p>\n<p>A grade of C or higher must be obtained in all courses. <span>It is recommended that students take courses covering at least two European countries, and no more than five of the courses may be in a single discipline<\/span>. Two courses from the Middle Ages and early modern period may substitute with advisor permission.<\/p>\n<h4>Required Related Language Courses<\/h4>\n<p>Students minoring in European Studies must complete five semesters of a European language other than English or demonstrate equivalent proficiency.<\/p>\n<h4>Study Abroad<\/h4>\n<p>Study in Europe through<span>\u00a0<\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/www-staging.bu.edu\/academics\/cas\/programs\/study-abroad-and-internship-programs\/\">Boston University\u2019s Study Abroad and Internship Programs<\/a><span>\u00a0<\/span>in Europe is encouraged.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Minor in European Studies The minor in European Studies, offered by the\u00a0Frederick S.
