{"id":12965,"date":"2025-10-24T19:56:59","date_gmt":"2025-10-24T23:56:59","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/european\/?page_id=12965"},"modified":"2026-05-31T19:15:11","modified_gmt":"2026-05-31T23:15:11","slug":"decentering-europe","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/european\/projects\/decentering-europe\/","title":{"rendered":"Decentering Europe"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span>The aim of the Decentering Europe initiative at BU\u2019s Center for the Study of Europe, which launched in the spring of 2025 with a series of lectures focused on Europe&#8217;s relationship to Africa, is to promote a critical understanding of Europe through its complex heritage, which owes its richness to countless contributions from other regions of the world, including Africa.
