Join us for a book talk by Jelena Diab Golubović, Assistant Professor of Anthropology and International Affairs at. Previously, she was a Banting Postdoctoral Fellow at The Fletcher School of Global Affairs at Tufts University.
Golubović’s research is ethnographically grounded in the former Yugoslavia, where she explores hidden geographies of political violence. Her first book Inner Zone: The Untold Violence of Retribution in Besieged Sarajevo (University of Pennsylvania Press, 2026) offers a new approach to telling asymmetrical histories of war. Her next project re-orients toward the lithium rush in Bosnia-Herzegovina and Serbia, exploring the violence of green transition through the lens of infrastructure.
