Tormod Heier is Professor in Military Strategy and Operations, and Associate Professor at the Swedish Defence University in Stockholm. Heier is currently Guest Researcher at Boston University, USA, leading a research project on security and defence cooperation between the United States and Europe. Heier served 32 years as Officer in Norway’s Armed Forces, 32 of them as Lieutenant Colonel in the Army. He was Professor II at University of Inland Norway from 2020 to 2025.

Eugene Chausovsky is Senior Director for Analytical Development and Training at the New Lines Institute, where he oversees the institute’s methodology, forecasting, and training programs, and guides the development of analytical products. He previously served for more than a decade as Senior Eurasia Analyst at the geopolitical intelligence firm Stratfor. His work has focused on political, economic, and security issues related to Russia, Eurasia, and China, as well as global connectivity in trade, technology, and energy. He is a frequent commentator and advisor on international affairs and has written extensively on the strategic dynamics of Eurasia and great power competition.
