Boston Annual Ukrainian Festival (08/27/22)

Come to experience the best of Ukrainian culture at a time when the world sees Ukraine defending its freedom and uniting cultures!

Boston University’s Center for the Study of Europe has teamed with Sky Philanthropy, MAF, and the Sky International Center to organize Boston’s first annual Ukrainian Festival & Independence Day. The event takes place from 2 PM to 8 PM on the grounds of Boston University’s “Beach” and will be free and open to the public.

Soulful & captivating – modest words which describe but by no means capture the essence of Ukrainian folk art, music, song and dance. From the rich color and deep symbolism of the delicate “pysanka” (Ukrainian Easter Egg) to the thunderous, power, rhythm and strength of “HOPAK” – the world’s most exciting ethnic dance, & brilliant “Kolomiyka” (polka) with soulful folk songs in between, come to celebrate the homeland’s independence. All proceeds will go towards helping Ukrainian victims in the horrible current war.

Enjoy an outdoor summer concert and shows, a public social dance, food and baked goods, fun children’s activities, vendors grove, arts and crafts displays and bazaar, cool refreshments, and live cultural performances from Ukrainian history and Ukrainian hospitality.

We are marking Ukraine’s Independence, the Unity of the Ukrainian People, and their Struggle for Freedom, Prosperity and Dignity. The artists have created a dynamic and integrated collaborative program.
