Event Highlights: Current Intelligence Politics in Germany and the Future of the Transatlantic Digital Dialogue

The Center for the Study of Europe kicked off the spring semester on Monday, February 1, with a talk on current intelligence politics in Europe by Dr. Throsten M. Wetzling, leader of the Privacy Project at the Berlin-based think tank Stiftung Neue Verantwortung. Wetzling described the project—the aim of which is to launch a wide, public debate on the protection of privacy on the Internet and to put this issue on the political agenda—in the context of the “transatlantic digital divide.” 

The conversation was moderated by Joe Wippl, Professor of the Practice of International Relations at Boston University’s Pardee SchoolWetzling’s visit to Boston University was sponsored by the Boston Eric M. Warburg Chapter of the American Council on Germany.
