Event Highlights: Europe 2014 – Re-generation
On Friday, February 28, 2014, Vivien Schmidt, Director of the Center for the Study of Europe, hosted a reception in honor of participants in the 2014 European Conference at her home in Brookline. Guests included a number of conference participants including Joaquín Almunia, VP European Commission and European Commissioner for Competition; Androulla Vassiliou
Commissioner for Education, Culture, Multilingualism and Youth; Erkki Liikanen, Governor, Central Bank of Finland; João Vale de Almeida, EU Ambassador to the United States; Antonio Vitorino, President of Notre Europe – Jacques Delors Institute; Klaus Welle, Secretary General of the European Parliament; and several others. The weekend conference was organized by student groups at Harvard University and the Fletcher School.
