Since many of these apps are now content producing, this provides a good opportunity to explore the potential of the iPad as a business tool.\u00a0 <strong>Please Note:<\/strong> The iPad should not be considered as a replacement for your desktop computer.<\/p>\n<p><strong>iPad 2 Features<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Video mirroring to share exactly what\u2019s displayed on the screen<\/li>\n<li>Cameras located in the front and back for taking pictures, recording videos, and FaceTime video chat<\/li>\n<li>Faster processor for enhanced overall performance<\/li>\n<li>33% thinner and 15% lighter<\/li>\n<li>Improved video output resolution up to 1080p (High Definition) using Apple\u2019s AV adapter<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Current Supported Uses<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Business Travel \u2013 Access e-mail, browse websites, display videos, create\/edit files<\/li>\n<li>Presentations \u2013 Display any content on the screen to a projector or monitor<\/li>\n<li>E-Mail<\/li>\n<li>Website Access (No integrated support for Flash or Java sites)<\/li>\n<li>Editor (Keynote, Numbers, Pages)<\/li>\n<li>Reader (iBook or PDF)<\/li>\n<li>Notes<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Functions Not Currently Supported<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Printing, Remote Desktop<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Models that ESO has purchased have the following hardware and software configuration:<\/p>\n<p><strong>Supported Hardware<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Apple iPad 2 with Wi-Fi, 16 GB<\/li>\n<li>iPad Smart Cover &#8211; Polyurethane &#8211; Gray<\/li>\n<li>Apple VGA &amp; Digital AV Adapter<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Supported Software<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Apple iWork Keynote (Presentation)<\/li>\n<li>Apple iWork Numbers (Spreadsheet)<\/li>\n<li>Apple iWork Pages (Word Processor)<\/li>\n<li>GoodReader for iPad (PDF Reader\/Annotations)<\/li>\n<li>iBooks (Reader)<\/li>\n<li>Notes Plus\/Penultimate (Notes, sketches<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Security<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>All iPads will be registered and tagged with an aluminum plate by the Boston University Police Department. This security measure will deter theft while enabling the iPad\u2019s safe return if lost, stolen, or misplaced.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Reservations<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>ESO currently has several iPad 2 devices available for reservation by ENSA staff.
