Updating Virus Definitions Using LiveUpdate

If you have checked out a laptop, taken your office laptop home or off-campus, or would just like to manually update the virus patterns on your computer, please follow these instructions:

1. Double-click on the Symantec Antivirus icon located in the system tray at bottom right corner next to the clock or click Start → All Programs → Symantec Client Security → Symantec AntiVirus. The Symantec AntiVirus dialog box appears. In the right Symantec AntiVirus window, click the LiveUpdate button.
2. The Welcome to LiveUpdate screen will appear. Click Next.
3. A window will appear informing you that the download has completed.
4. Click Finish. Symantec AntiVirus will update the virus protection files on your computer.
