We are focused on making EPIC\u00a0 a place where students can learn how to bring their ideas into reality and away from it being viewed as just a machine shop. \u00a0We want to meet students at their experience level and create a space where everyone feels welcome to come in, be inspired to work on interesting problems and get the help they need. \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>To ensure we are including your voice, needs, thoughts, and ideas, EPIC has a student advisory board.\u00a0 In the last year, they have increased our student engagement, identified methods to improve inclusion, and improved our digital outreach.<\/span><\/p>\n<div>\nWe want the student board to represent the wide-ranging voices in the BU community; those that are passionate about engaging in the space. \u00a0We want to learn from the students how best to serve their needs and account for their experience and comfort level.\u00a0 We are looking to hear from both current and potential users of EPIC to design the space for the entirety of the BU community.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>\n<ul>\n<li>The term lasts as long as you are a student at BU.<\/li>\n<li>Expected weekly time commitment of 2-3 hours including weekly hour long meeting<\/li>\n<li>Ability to work alone or in small groups to brainstorm, implement and report on solutions for issues and\/or initiatives to improve the space<\/li>\n<li>Drive and initiative to reach out to other organizations and administration on campus to help achieve objectives<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/docs.google.com\/document\/d\/187XELyIm6fIJ-GVundfxBsoK3cKncPj45jFa0fFWNEI\/edit?usp=sharing\">Student advisory handbook is available here.<\/a> (BU Google accounts only)<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Please reach out to <a href=\"mailto:schomysz@bu.edu\">Prof. Chomyszak<\/a> with any student board questions.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>EPIC Student Board EPIC is working to continually improve the space, how students access it and, and the educational content of the program.
