Waiver of Posting Requirements

Under certain circumstances, a department may wish to request permission to waive the posting of a particular position. There are specific guidelines regarding such a waiver.  The hiring manager should consult with the Talent Acquisition Specialist handling the position to determine whether a waiver is appropriate. Your Talent Acquisition Specialist will provide assistance in preparing the request form and submitting it to the Equal Opportunity Office, including providing the link to the waiver form. All requests to waive posting must be copied to the Talent Acquisition Specialist assigned to the School/Department. 

Upon receipt of a waiver submission, the Equal Opportunity Office will review the request and notify the hiring manager and Talent Acquisition of whether the posting can be waived.

Each request to waive a posting of a position will be considered on a case-by-case basis. In general, it is expected that all positions will be posted. Please contact eoo@bu.edu with any questions.
