The Simpson Undergraduate Writing Fellowship<\/a><\/p>\n

Offered through BU\u2019s Writing Program, this fellowship pays an English Major to tutor peers in writing for their English courses.<\/p>\n

Many programs hire people to teach ESL (English as a Second Language) or ELL (English Language Learners) in the United States and abroad, including Teach Away<\/a>, Go Overseas<\/a>, CIEE<\/a>, Jeju ESL Consulting<\/a>, and JET<\/a>. Positions often require TEFL or TESOL certification. BU offers TESOL certification<\/a> (four courses, some of which can also count toward the English Major and Minor).<\/p>\n

Teach for America<\/a> and Match Corps<\/a><\/p>\n

Fully paid teaching positions with benefits that include student loan deferrals and stipends that can be applied to graduate school or loans. Does not require an education degree or state certificate.<\/p>\n

A recruiting firm for private\/independent schools that holds information sessions followed by job interviews on campus. No teaching certificate or education degree required.<\/p>\n
