\"\"The Boston University College of Engineering has grown both its undergraduate and graduate robotics program significantly in recent years and is being recognized for it. The College\u2019s Robotics Lab is one of just seven recognized by Analytics Insight<\/a> as offering the nation\u2019s best robotics programs.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m glad to see that our work to expand our programs as well as bring in top faculty members and researchers has been recognized,\u201d says Professor and Director of the BU Robotics Lab Calin Belta (ME, SE, ECE). \u201cThis list puts us in good company with several of the other top robotics programs in the country.\u201d<\/p>\n

The BU robotics program was singled out for its efforts to educate students on how to program and create autonomous robots, and for the Robotics Lab, located behind the Engineering Product Innovation Center<\/a>. Analytics Insight noted that the lab can accommodate ground and air robots of various sizes and capabilities, and includes a motion capture system.<\/p>\n

Other robotics programs on the list of seven include Carnegie Mellon University, Georgia Institute of Technology, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Johns Hopkins University, the University of Pennsylvania, and Columbia University.<\/p>\n

Belta noted that the College recently created the Center for Autonomous and Robotics Systems, an interdisciplinary research center dedicated to advancing artificial intelligence (AI) integration into other fields, including biomedical engineering. Belta is the Center\u2019s director.<\/p>\n

Boston University makes the short list of top Robotics Universities, according to Analytics Insight. The Robotics Lab at Boston University\u2019s college of engineering offers three distinct research topics to impart the knowledge of how to program and create robotic automation among its students.
