The organization selects its fellows based on their \u201coutstanding and extraordinary contributions to the field.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Professor Paschalidis is the director of the Rafik B. Hariri Institute for Computing and Computational Science and Engineering, a founding member of the Faculty of Computing &amp; Data Sciences, and was instrumental in securing state funding for the university\u2019s new RASTIC robotics center. Highly collaborative and interdisciplinary in his approach, Paschalidis\u2019s ground-breaking research into such diverse areas as predictive health modeling, autonomous robots, smart cities, and sustainable energy certainly exemplifies IFAC\u2019s conception of automatic control technology as \u201cthe technology \u2026 for designing and operating the systems for solving societal problems.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>The new class of fellows will be honored at the 2023 IFAC World Congress in Yokohama this July.
