College of Engineering Undergraduate Commencement

Tickets are not required and there is no limit to family members and guests of our engineering students participating in the College of Engineering Undergraduate Ceremony.<\/b><\/p>\n

A reception will be held immediately prior to the Undergraduate ceremony, from 2:45-3:45pm.\u00a0<\/strong> All graduates and guests are invited.\u00a0 The reception will be held in the 3 court gym in the Fitness and Recreation Center. Graduates and guests should enter the Fitness and Recreation Center \u00a0through Buick Street, Dance Theater not the main building entrance.\u00a0 There is a separate entrance on Buick Street. For security purposes, note that you will not be permitted to enter the line-up gymnasium with bags and\/or backpacks<\/strong>. Please leave these at home, as guests will not be allowed to enter with these items either.<\/p>\n

At 3:45pm, guests will be encouraged to walk over to Agganis Arena to get seated in advance of the ceremony. Graduating students will remain in the 3 court gym for line-up in preparation for the processional into Agganis Arena.<\/p>\n

Faculty are encouraged to attend the reception prior to the ceremony, but should arrive for line up in the Fitness and Recreation Center no later than 4:15pm. Enter through the main entrance of the FitRec Building at 915 Commonwealth Avenue<\/span>\u00a0and proceed to the lower level.<\/p>\n

All University Commencement

Guest limits are enforced for the All-University commencement ceremony on Sunday, May 17<\/strong>. More details will be available here<\/a> as they are finalized.<\/p>\n

Cap & Gown Information<\/h2>\n

Everyone who participates in an academic ceremony on Commencement Day is required to wear a cap and gown<\/a> as approved by the University. For questions regarding regalia, please email:\u00a0 regalia@bu.edu<\/a>.<\/p>\n

How can I order photographs or video of the event?<\/h3>

\nStudents can purchase a Handshake photo of them receiving their degree on stage during the ceremony. Please see the BU Commencement website<\/a> for more information on this.
\nStudents may order video of the ceremony digitally through Vimeo. You can place your order through their website.<\/a>

Is there a limit to the number of guests I can bring?<\/h3>

\nNo, there is no limit and there are no tickets required at College of Engineering ceremony at the Agganis Arena.
\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n

Do my guests need tickets?<\/h3>

\nNo tickets are required for the College of Engineering ceremony. Seating is on a first-come, first-served basis.
\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n

What if I or one of my guests requires handicapped seating or other accommodations?<\/h3>

\nWe do need to know you\/your guest’s requirement in advance. Families should complete the Disability & Access Services request form<\/a> between April 1 and May 8 to request accommodations for the Engineering undergraduate ceremony and\/or the All-University ceremony.<\/p>\n

Will we have a rehearsal like we did in high school?<\/h3>

\nNo, there is no rehearsal for either ceremony.
\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n

Where should we park?<\/h3>

\nBoston traffic is its own experience, and one that most of us would happily avoid if we could. BU’s Parking and Transportation website<\/a> has information on how to get around without your car over Commencement weekend.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

For those who must drive to campus,\u00a0<\/span>all parking lots and garages<\/a>\u00a0will be open and available free of charge throughout the weekend. Any vehicles left overnight should park in\u00a0<\/span>Warren Towers Garage.\u00a0<\/a>The parking lot closest to the Engineering undergraduate ceremony is the\u00a0Agganis Arena Garage & Lot,\u00a0925 Commonwealth Avenue<\/a>\u00a0(Enter on Buick Street)
\nPlease allow ample time before the reception and ceremony to park and make your way to the venue.

How early should our guests arrive?<\/h3>

\nFor the College of Engineering ceremony guests will be able to enter Agganis Arena at 4pm. However, there will be a reception in FitRec prior to the ceremony, and guests and graduates are encouraged to attend.

Approximately how long is the College of Engineering ceremony?<\/h3>

\nThe ceremony lasts approximately two hours.<\/p>\n
