During the program she attended a LEAP event and made a connection with a former LEAPer who worked at MathWorks. This connection led her to landing an internship at MathWorks while she finished her degree. After her internship, she was hired and worked with the MATLAB Graphics team as a quality engineer for a little over three years. In 2017, she moved to new position in \u00a0MathWorks supporting the MATLAB Test Frameworks team. In July 2018, Samantha joined, Wistia, a video hosting startup in Cambridge as a quality engineer.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/eng\/admissions\/graduate\/leap\/why-i-chose-leap\/alumni-profiles\/sara-leski-ecmo-manufacturing-leader-at-abiomed\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><img loading=\"lazy\" src=\"\/eng\/files\/2022\/08\/S.LeSage.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"150\" height=\"151\" class=\"size-full wp-image-121004 alignleft\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/eng\/files\/2022\/08\/S.LeSage.png 150w, https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/eng\/files\/2022\/08\/S.LeSage-100x100.png 100w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 150px) 100vw, 150px\" \/>Sara Leski<\/a>, ECMO Manufacturing Leader at Abiomed<br \/>\n<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Sara Leski, a former LEAP student,\u00a0 graduated from Boston University\u00a0 in 2018 with a Master\u2019s degree of Manufacturing Engineering<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. While completing her last two semesters at BU, Sara was fortunate enough to be accepted as an Abiomed co-op manufacturing and engineering student. Through one of Sara\u2019s previous work experiences, she made a friend that connected her with Abiomed, where she still works now. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/eng\/admissions\/graduate\/leap\/why-i-chose-leap\/alumni-profiles\/sara-leski-ecmo-manufacturing-leader-at-abiomed\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>More..<\/strong><\/a><\/span><br \/>\n<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><strong>Bradley<\/strong><strong>,\u00a0<\/strong><strong>GE Aviation<\/strong><strong>, Data Systems Lead Engineer<img loading=\"lazy\" src=\"\/eng\/files\/2022\/08\/sm_Garner_0326.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" class=\"size-full wp-image-121008 alignleft\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/eng\/files\/2022\/08\/sm_Garner_0326.jpg 150w, https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/eng\/files\/2022\/08\/sm_Garner_0326-100x100.jpg 100w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 150px) 100vw, 150px\" \/><\/strong><span><br \/>\nMaster&#8217;s<\/span> program: Mechanical Engineering\u00a0&#8211; Undergraduate Major: Economics<\/p>\n<p>Brad joined GE Aviation\u00a0 in the Engine Systems group supporting numerous cost improvement initiatives for the F414 and F404 product lines.\u00a0 After finishing his Master\u2019s Degree, Brad joined the TF\/TJ Performance Group.\u00a0 In\u00a0 this role\u00a0he focused on engine test and cycle model development, supporting numerous production and development programs.<br \/>\nIn 2017, Brad transitioned to a Lead Software Engineer in the Lynn Data Systems Group.\u00a0 In this role\u00a0he owns and develops the software that collects and processes engine data from all Lynn test cells.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><strong>Eliana<\/strong><strong>,\u00a0<\/strong><strong>Smith &amp; Nephew Endoscopy<\/strong><strong>, Manufacturing Engineer<img loading=\"lazy\" src=\"\/eng\/files\/2022\/08\/sm_Gutman_0335.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"150\" height=\"140\" class=\"size-full wp-image-121009 alignleft\" \/><\/strong><span><br \/>\nMaster&#8217;s<\/span> program: Mechanical Engineering\u00a0&#8211; Undergraduate Major: Political Theory<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong>After graduating with a degree in political theory,\u00a0Eliana<strong>\u00a0<\/strong>pursued several other avenues of employment (finance, law, etc.) before returning to school for engineering. Currently,\u00a0<span>Eliana<\/span>\u00a0is a project manager with Smith &amp; Nephew.\u00a0After graduating from the program,\u00a0<span>Eliana<\/span> was offered\u00a0 a position as a project engineer working on large transfer programs and managing two recently hired project engineers.\u00a0She then received the opportunity to move to the Global Process Optimization group as a project manager. In this role,\u00a0Eliana manages and supports multi-site, global projects.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><strong><img loading=\"lazy\" src=\"\/eng\/files\/2022\/08\/Smith_crop.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" class=\"size-full wp-image-121010 alignleft\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/eng\/files\/2022\/08\/Smith_crop.jpg 150w, https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/eng\/files\/2022\/08\/Smith_crop-100x100.jpg 100w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 150px) 100vw, 150px\" \/>Gabriel, <\/strong><strong>Pratt &amp; Whitney<\/strong><strong>, Structures Engineer<br \/>\n<\/strong><strong><\/strong><strong><\/strong><strong><\/strong><strong><\/strong><span>Master&#8217;s<\/span> program: Mechanical Engineering\u00a0&#8211; Undergraduate Major: Philosophy<\/p>\n<p>Gabriel Smith earned his BA from Thomas Aquinas College, in a unique program most similar to a traditional major in Philosophy with a minor in Math. After graduating, he took a year off, and spent a year and a half in graduate studies for Philosophy before leaving to begin math prerequisites at a community college.<\/p>\n<p>During his time at BU, Gabriel worked as a research assistant in the Mechanics of Slender Structures lab, where he was was mentored and contributed to publications. He completed his MS in Mechanical Engineering and\u00a0 joined Pratt &amp; Whitney as a Structures Engineer in the Advanced Engines Group, Compression Systems division. As a structures engineer his primary responsibility is performing structural analyses and evaluating them against fatigue, vibration, and static criteria.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><strong><img loading=\"lazy\" src=\"\/eng\/files\/2022\/08\/Daukas_crop.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" class=\"size-full wp-image-121011 alignleft\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/eng\/files\/2022\/08\/Daukas_crop.jpg 150w, https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/eng\/files\/2022\/08\/Daukas_crop-100x100.jpg 100w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 150px) 100vw, 150px\" \/>Dana, <\/strong><strong>Choate, Hall &amp; Stewart LLP<\/strong><strong>, Staff Scientist<br \/>\n<\/strong><strong><\/strong><strong><\/strong><span>Master&#8217;s<\/span> program: Biomedical Engineering &#8211; Undergraduate Major: Biochemistry<\/p>\n<p>Dana is a member of the Choate, Hall &amp; Stewart&#8217;s Intellectual Property Department. Her academic training and professional experience in life sciences and engineering offer a unique perspective to a variety of clients. Dana is a biomedical engineer with a broad technical background. Her areas of experience include orthopedic, endovascular surgery, and surgical robotics supporting patent prosecution, landscape and freedom to operate analysis.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><strong><img loading=\"lazy\" src=\"\/eng\/files\/2022\/08\/sm_Reavey_0210.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" class=\"size-full wp-image-121012 alignleft\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/eng\/files\/2022\/08\/sm_Reavey_0210.jpg 150w, https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/eng\/files\/2022\/08\/sm_Reavey_0210-100x100.jpg 100w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 150px) 100vw, 150px\" \/>Michael, <\/strong><strong>MITRE<\/strong><strong>, Infrastructure Engineer<br \/>\n<\/strong><span>Master&#8217;s<\/span> program: Computer Engineering\u00a0&#8211; Undergraduate Major: Music<\/p>\n<p>DuringMichael&#8217;s studies at Boston University, he interned at KPMG, analyzing data in support of a large-scale software test effort.\u00a0 Following graduation, Michael began work at the MITRE Corporation as an Infrastructure Engineer, supporting teams developing networking and security solutions that allow federal government sponsors to conduct their missions under degraded conditions.\u00a0 His current work includes modernizing command and control networks and designing moving target defenses for enterprise architectures.<\/p>\n<p>Prior to becoming an engineer, Michael worked in music education and performance.\u00a0 A trumpet player by training, he attended the Oberlin Conservatory of Music and\u00a0currently performs with The Chicken Slacks, Boston&#8217;s hardest working funk, soul, and r+b band.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Samantha,\u00a0Wistia, Quality Engineer Master&#8217;s\u00a0program: Biomedical Engineering &#8211; Undergraduate Major: Stage Management Samantha graduated from BU with an MEng in Biomedical Engineering.
