See &#8216;Application Requirements&#8217; below.<\/strong><\/p>\n<div style=\"background-color: #e0e0e0; padding: 1em;\">\n<h2><strong>Fall 2027 Application Deadlines<\/strong><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Early Consideration (BU Seniors ONLY) &#8211; October 15, 2026<\/strong> | Deadline to submit all required credentials for the MS or MEng programs from current BU undergraduate students in their final year of their bachelor&#8217;s degree to all departments\/divisions.<\/li>\n<li><strong>PhD &#8211; December 15, 2026<\/strong>\u00a0| Deadline to submit all required credentials for PhD applications from international and domestic students to all departments\/divisions.<\/li>\n<li><strong>MS, MEng &amp; LEAP &#8211; January 15, 2027<\/strong> |<span data-teams=\"true\"> All Master&#8217;s Programs Priority Deadline. Applications completed by March 15 will be automatically considered for merit-based scholarship.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<h2><strong>Spring 2027 Application Deadlines<\/strong><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>MS, MEng &amp; LEAP &#8211; November 1, 2026 <\/strong>| Deadline to submit all required credentials for <span>the following programs only: <\/span>LEAP (all program tracks), MS in Mechanical Engineering, MS in Electrical &amp; Computer Engineering, MS and MEng in Materials Science &amp; Engineering, MS in Robotics &amp; Autonomous Systems, MS and MEng in Systems Engineering.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>We<span>\u00a0<\/span><strong>do not<\/strong><span>\u00a0<\/span>accept PhD applications for the Spring semester.<br \/>\nWe<span>\u00a0<\/span><strong>do not<\/strong><span>\u00a0<\/span>accept applications for the Spring semester to the following programs: MEng Biomedical Engineering and MS Biomedical Engineering.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Application Requirements<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>All applicants to the College of Engineering are required to submit the following credentials:<\/p>\n<div class=\"bu_collapsible_container \" aria-live=\"polite\" data-customize-animation=\"false\"><h3 class=\"bu_collapsible\" aria-expanded=\"false\"tabindex=\"0\" role=\"button\">A completed electronic application<\/h3><div class=\"bu_collapsible_section\" style=\"display: none;\"><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Applicants will need to complete all required sections of the online application prior to submitting it. This includes uploading the required credentials.<\/li>\n<li>Please note the applicants&#8217; name on the application form must appear exactly the same as on applicants\u2019 passports or official government documents. If an applicant&#8217;s name on any supporting credentials appears differently than it appears on the application form, the applicant must notify the Graduate Programs Office &#8211; <a href=\"mailto:enggrad@bu.edu\">enggrad@bu.edu<\/a> &#8211; of the name variation to ensure that all the documents can be successfully matched.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"bu_collapsible_container \" aria-live=\"polite\" data-customize-animation=\"false\"><h3 class=\"bu_collapsible\" aria-expanded=\"false\"tabindex=\"0\" role=\"button\">Application fee of $95<\/h3><div class=\"bu_collapsible_section\" style=\"display: none;\">This is a non-refundable processing fee and must be paid by credit card. No department code is required, but you may use dept. code &#8220;99&#8221; if necessary.<\/p>\n<p>A GRE score is valid for five years. The five-year expiration date is based on January for Fall applicants and October for Spring applicants. For example, if an applicant is applying for Fall 2027 a GRE test taken prior to January 2022 is expired.<\/p>\n<p>GRE Subject tests are not required.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>GRE Testing:<\/strong>\u00a0ETS is now offering the <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ets.org\/gre\/test-takers\/general-test\/register\/at-home-testing.html\">GRE General Test at Home<\/a>.\u00a0<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"bu_collapsible_container \" aria-live=\"polite\" data-customize-animation=\"false\"><h3 class=\"bu_collapsible\" aria-expanded=\"false\"tabindex=\"0\" role=\"button\">Personal Statement<\/h3><div class=\"bu_collapsible_section\" style=\"display: none;\"><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Discuss your short and long-term professional goals and the major influences that helped shape these goals. Describe your motivation for pursuing graduate study at the College of Engineering. You may also wish to support your application by providing any comments or information that you feel are not elicited by the application form.<\/li>\n<li>The Personal Statement will be uploaded to your application in the &#8220;Document Upload&#8221; section of the application. Students should complete and upload the Personal Statement before submitting the online application.<\/li>\n<li>We recommend that the personal statement not exceed 1500 words.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"bu_collapsible_container \" aria-live=\"polite\" data-customize-animation=\"false\"><h3 class=\"bu_collapsible\" aria-expanded=\"false\"tabindex=\"0\" role=\"button\">CV\/Resume<\/h3><div class=\"bu_collapsible_section\" style=\"display: none;\"><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The resume should include any relevant work and\/or research experience; community and\/or professional activities; any honors, distinctions, prizes, or scholarships you have received; publications, theses, scientific or literary articles; and any other creative work which could be used to support your application.<\/li>\n<li>The resume will be uploaded to your application in the &#8220;Document Upload&#8221; section of the application. Students should complete and upload their resume before submitting the online application.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"bu_collapsible_container \" aria-live=\"polite\" data-customize-animation=\"false\"><h3 class=\"bu_collapsible\" aria-expanded=\"false\"tabindex=\"0\" role=\"button\">Unofficial Transcripts<\/h3><div class=\"bu_collapsible_section\" style=\"display: none;\"><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>At the point of application, unofficial transcripts are acceptable. These documents should still have official seals and logos if possible and should be uploaded directly to the online application in the &#8220;Academic History&#8221; section. You should not request an official transcript from your previous institution until after your coursework is complete.<\/li>\n<li>To obtain an unofficial transcript, you should log in to your student portal at your institution. You can also contact the registrar\u2019s office at your institution for additional assistance. The document must have the applicant&#8217;s name, the name of the institution, and a seal, logo, or signature of a school official (like the Registrar, Dean, etc.). It should also include each course taken and the grade earned for each course.<\/li>\n<li>If your transcript is in English, a professional translation or a course-by-course credential evaluation is not required.<\/li>\n<li>If the original transcript is not in English, please provide a professionally translated English version in addition to the original unofficial transcript. Two US-based translation services commonly used by applicants are ECE (www.ece.org) and WES (www.wes.org). If you use a US-based translation service, please submit a course-by-course evaluation. Please note that US-based translation services will charge a fee, and you are under no obligation to use these services.<\/li>\n<li>Applicants must upload a scanned copy of the transcript from each college or university attended.<\/li>\n<li>In order to complete your application, the College of Engineering requires a transcript from every university\/college that you have attended. The Admissions Committee reserves the right to request further information from an applicant. For purposes of application, you should list only the schools\/colleges for which you are uploading transcripts.<\/li>\n<li>DO NOT mail official hard copies of your transcripts. To ensure students are adequately prepared for the program coursework, LEAP applicants are required to have completed Calculus I at an accredited college or university <\/span><strong>prior to starting the program<\/strong><span>. Please note that any Calculus I courses designated as &#8220;Calculus I for non-STEM majors&#8221; or\u00a0 &#8220;Calculus I for humanities majors&#8221; will NOT count since they will not adequately prepare students for the LEAP curriculum. A complete application will contain all of the required credentials listed above. If documents are missing, your application will be incomplete and will not be reviewed until the required credentials have been received.
