Prysm Video Wall

To celebrate its 50th anniversary year, the College of Engineering commissioned a video piece that illustrates the societal impact of its research. “College of Engineering Research: Transforming Society” was designed by Body Echo Productions for display on an interactive video wall created by Prysm, Inc. The project was supported PTC® and Communication Technology Services.

The video wall display is the creation of two College of Engineering alumni, Amit Jain (’85, 88) and Roger Hajjar (’88). They invented the laser phosphor display technology that combines the most advanced high-definition, low-energy, virtually seamless displays with touch-enabled interaction. Their company, Prysm, Inc., supplies video walls to businesses, governments and universities around the world.

The Prysm video wall was constructed in the lobby of the main College of Engineering building at 44 Cummington Mall in Boston. Body Echo produced this brief video of the project.

Body Echo

Body Echo LLC was founded by Boston University College of Fine Arts Professor Hugh O’Donnell to develop multimedia productions that bring together diverse technical and artistic expertise. The mission of the company is to cross borders that traditionally separate specialized domains of knowledge, bridging the distance between the humanities and general sciences. The outcome is the creation of artworks that are a fusion of poetry and scientific research, and a digital print and motion graphic video portfolio of great diversity and range.
