ECE at Boston University anticipates multiple openings for a Tenure-Track Assistant Professor in the area of Computer Systems.

We seek candidates in operating systems, compilers, cybersecurity, or software engineering to build future cloud and edge computing systems for a smart, secure and connected society.

Potential application areas include healthcare, communications, transportation, finance, and scientific computing.

AI Cluster Hiring Initiative

Tenure-Track Positions Available in ECE

Boston University invites applications for eight tenure-track faculty positions as part of a 3-year cluster hiring initiative in Artificial Intelligence (AI). This university-wide initiative, led by the Faculty of Computing & Data Sciences (CDS) in partnership with six schools and colleges at BU aims to recruit a cadre of scholars working on foundational, methodological, and use-inspired dimensions of AI to be appointed in academic units spanning a broad collection of disciplines. The department of Electrical and Computer Engineering invites candidates whose work interfaces with AI in areas including, but not limited to, computer vision, optimization, signal processing, autonomous systems and robotics, reinforcement learning, digital health, and applications in social networks, cybersecurity, cloud computing, and photonics.

We encourage candidates to apply early. Applications received by November 1, 2023 will be given full consideration. Review will continue on a rolling basis until April 15, 2024.

The College of Engineering (COE) at Boston University (BU) has embarked on a bold new strategic plan that will pursue excellence and impact along six convergent research themes: (1) Intelligent, Autonomous and Secure Systems, (2) Synthetic Biology, Tissue Engineering, and Mechanobiology, (3) Energy, Sustainability, and Climate, (4) Materials by Design, (5) Photonics and Optical Systems, and (6) Neuroengineering, Neuroinformatics, and Neuroscience.

Tenure-Track Assistant Professor, Energy, Sustainability and Climate

As part of the Energy, Sustainability, and Climate theme, the COE at BU is searching for tenure-track faculty candidates at the Assistant Professor level, whose research interests align with one or more of the following areas: smart grid and sustainable power systems, negative emissions and industrial decarbonization, and sustainable electronics and computing. Non-Tenure Track Teaching Faculty

The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Boston University invites applications for an anticipated teaching position beginning the fall term of 2024.

This non-tenure track position will be at the level of InstructorLecturer or Professor of Practice. Interested candidates should be committed to delivering excellent courses at all levels in Electrical and Computer Engineering.

Particular areas of need are introductory programming, software engineering, operating systems, networks and algorithms, and senior design.
