Our faculty are renowned in their fields, holding leadership positions in such organizations as the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers and the American Institute for Medical and Biological Engineering. They are recipients of thousands of grants and awards from groups ranging from the National Science Foundation and the National Institutes of Health to the Acoustical Society of America and the Howard Hughes Medical Institute.

Our distinguished faculty members, not graduate students, provide virtually all of our classroom instruction. The College offers a faculty fellowship program to recognize faculty members who develop innovative and effective teaching methods, and several of our faculty members are recipients of prestigious University-wide awards for excellence in teaching.
