Title: " Understanding Human Aging and Engineering Longevity”

Professor of Bioengineering Department of Biomedical Engineering, UC Berkeley

Irina Conboy, PhD is Professor of Bioengineering, UC Berkeley, Investigator at Quantitative Biology Institute, QB3 (UCB/UCSF/UCSC), member of the UCB/UCSF Graduate Program, Top 50 Womens Longevity Leaders, Editor in Chief of Rejuvenation Research, Standing Member of an NIH Study Section, co-founder of Generation Lab. Co, and scientific advisor to Juvena, Immunis biotech companies and to The Alliance for Longevity Initiative (a4li) non-profit. Her research uncovered fundamental biomedical paradigms on the impact of age-imposed and pathological changes in circulatory milieu on signaling networks that regulate tissue maintenance and repair, as well as the strategies of calibrating these to healthy states. In addition to her focus on regenerative medicine, Irina’s strengths and areas of expertise include novel bio-computation and quantification of biological age and risk of disease, regenerative and neuroprotective therapeutics, CRISPR strategies for diagnosing and treating tissue degeneration, and synthetic biology - bio-orthogonal proteomics. Prof. Conboy received numerous awards for her work, including Good Ventures Foundation, Silicon Valley Foundation, Open Philanthropy Award, Packer endowment, Raymond and Beverly Sackler Award, Calico Award, Bridging the Gap Award, SENS Foundation and Life Extension Foundation, W.M. Keck Foundation, Glenn, Ellison’s Medical Foundation, and National Research Service Award.
