The Dissertation Writing Institute, co-sponsored by the Associate Provost for Graduate Affairs and the Educational Resource Center, is designed to help doctoral candidates accomplish their writing goals and make significant progress toward completion. The DWI offers participants significant, focused time to write and a community of like-minded peers. Participants will also benefit from one-on-one consultations with ERC Writing Fellows and opportunities for feedback during interdisciplinary writing workshops. The program provides a high level of structure and accountability, and participants should expect to write approximately 4.5 hours every day.

Eligible students should have completed coursework, successfully defended their dissertation proposal (or had it approved), and drafted at least one dissertation chapter. There is a required application, and the deadline is 11:59pm on Monday, July 27th. There are 48 slots available, and we will prioritize applicants who are actively writing or revising dissertation chapters and who express interest in having sustained writing time and participating in an interdisciplinary community of writers. Participants must commit to attending the entirety of the camp. Those with significant conflicts are discouraged from applying. Visit http://www.bu.edu/erc/dwi to learn more and apply today!
