Boston University has established the BU Alert notification system for the purpose of communicating with the campus community for weather closures, utility outages, emergencies, or situations requiring the response or attention of the University community. The intent of this system is to provide guidance and information on how individuals can secure themselves and make decisions for their own safety.<\/p>\n
Notifications are delivered via text, phone, email, and the Everbridge mobile app. The Everbridge app is available on the<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>App Store<\/a>\u00a0or<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>Google Play<\/a>. Once you have downloaded the app, search for Boston University and sign in with your BU username and Kerberos password. Use of the app is optional, and you will still receive notifications if you do not download the app.<\/p>\n Students may add or update their BU Alert contact information by visiting the MyBU Student Portal <\/span><\/a>and clicking the \u201cPersonal\u201d tab to update \u201cAddress and Phone.\u201d Questions concerning enrollment in the BU Alert program may be addressed to the Admissions Office.<\/a><\/p>\n Faculty and staff may add or update their BU Alert contact information by visiting the\u00a0<\/span>BUworks Central Portal<\/a>\u00a0<\/span>and clicking on the \u201cEmployee Self-Service\u201d tab, and then selecting \u201cPersonal Information\u201d to update \u201cBU Alert Information.\u201d<\/p>\n If you are a parent, visitor to campus, vendor, or BU neighbor, we invite you to enroll in BU Alert by texting the code word BUALERT to 888777, so you will be notified directly by text of significant emergencies affecting the Boston University community.
