{"id":15567,"date":"2020-06-22T10:46:59","date_gmt":"2020-06-22T14:46:59","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/em\/?page_id=15567"},"modified":"2021-07-01T14:10:33","modified_gmt":"2021-07-01T18:10:33","slug":"covid-19","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/em\/risks\/covid-19\/","title":{"rendered":"Pandemics"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Emergency Management has revised the University\u2019s response plan for major infectious diseases, including roles and responsibilities of departments that may be involved in a coordinated response and recovery operations as well as the safety of the University community is maintained.<\/p>\n<p><span>EM coordinates a comprehensive emergency management program that encompasses a full range of leadership and governance structures designed to prevent, prepare for, respond to, and recover from threat<\/span><span>s<\/span><span>, emergenc<\/span><span>ies<\/span><span>, or disaster<\/span><span>s<\/span><span> that could disrupt the University\u2019s operations.<\/span><span> <\/span><span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/em\/files\/__restricted\/faculty-staff\/BU-Major-Infectious-Disease-Risk-Annex-March-2020-for-dist.pdf\">Major Infectious Disease Risk Annex<\/a><\/span><span>, the first new chapter of the University\u2019s Emergency Response Plan, <\/span><span>describes the roles and responsibilities of various University departments involved in managing potential threats to the public health, safety, and welfare of the University in the event of a potential emerging pandemic disease outbreak.
