1. How can I ensure that my laboratory personnel are in compliance with their required trainings?<\/h4>
<\/p>\n

A:\u00a0 The first step of the this process is to make sure that all laboratory members are added to your SciShield<\/a> laboratory profile.\u00a0 It is important that the members list on your BioRAFT<\/a> Laboratory profile is accurate at all times.\u00a0 You as the LSC have the ability to add\/remove members as needed.\u00a0 The second step of this process to make sure that you assign the appropriate job activities to the laboratory members based on their duties in the lab.\u00a0 Job activities are important in triggering the required trainings.\u00a0If you have questions on how to assign job activities please reach out to your EHS Safety Specialist.\u00a0\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n

2. Who should I contact in EHS for any lab related safety issues?<\/h4>
<\/p>\n

A: Each laboratory is assigned a EHS Safety Specialist<\/a> that is responsible for performing inspections, answering inquiries, and being a resource for all EHS related issues.\u00a0 Reaching out to your EHS Safety Specialist is always a good starting point for any safety related issues.\u00a0 The name and contact information for your assigned ESH Safety Specialist is also found on your labs BioRAFT profile homepage.\u00a0\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n

4. How do I request a hazardous waste pick up?<\/h4>
<\/p>\n

A:\u00a0 Hazardous waste pick ups are managed by the Environmental and Waste Management Division of EHS.\u00a0 Please visit the following link<\/a> on information regarding the various hazardous waste pick up requests (i.e. chemical, biological, radioactive, etc.)<\/em><\/p>\n

5. My laboratory is preparing to move out of a space and or get rid of equipment. What do I need to do to start this process?<\/h4>

A: All spaces\/equipment that you no longer intend to use must be decommissioned prior to removal.\u00a0 Please refer to this link<\/a> for all relevant information regarding this process.<\/em><\/p>\n

6. How can I prepare myself for an upcoming EHS Inspection?<\/h4>
<\/p>\n

A:\u00a0 One of the easiest ways to ensure that you are always in compliance and of making sure that you are ready for an inspection is to perform a self-inspection in BioRAFT.\u00a0 The self-inspection will guide you thru the various items that the EHS inspectors will be looking at during their inspection.<\/em><\/p>\n

7. How do I add\/remove lab spaces from my laboratory SciSure (formerly SciShield) profile?<\/h4>
<\/p>\n

A: Only EHS is able to add\/remove spaces from your SciShield profile.\u00a0 If you need to make any changes please reach out to your EHS Safety Specialist and they will be able to assist you with this.<\/em><\/p>\n

8. My door placard is inaccurate. Who is responsible for making any changes\/corrections to the door placard?<\/h4>
<\/p>\n

A:\u00a0 The door placards are maintained by your EHS Safety Specialist.\u00a0 Your Safety specialist will make the requested changed and provide you the updated placard to post.\u00a0\u00a0The name and contact information for your assigned ESH Safety Specialist is also found on your labs SciShield profile homepage.\u00a0\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n

9. How do I record my weekly eye wash flush test?<\/h4>
<\/p>\n

A: Laboratories are responsible for flushing eye wash<\/span><\/strong> stations (DO NOT TEST THE SHOWERS) on a weekly basis.\u00a0 Please record these test on the Eyewash Weekly Flush Log<\/a>\u00a0which must be posted in a conspicuous location near the eye wash station.<\/em><\/p>\n
