Order, Transfer, and Dispose of Equipment & Radioactive Materials

Radiation Safety coordinates:

  • Purchase of radioisotopes and certain equipment
  • Shipping and receiving of radioisotopes
  • Release surveys of radioactive materials labs and equipment being decommissioned, transferred, or that are in need of repair

Please note: If you plan to use radioactive material in “unsealed form” (i.e. liquid, powder, or gas), you will need specific equipment, an appropriate work environment, and hands-on training for all involved personnel.

The use of volatile radioiodine requires additional training and equipment. Please contact Radiation Safety for more details regarding volatile radioiodine use.

Ordering Radioactive Materials

Purchasing radioisotopes through the DMPRS ensures all purchases are consistent with conditions specified in the authorized user’s permit and applicable regulatory requirements and we receive preferred pricing since we are able to consolidate purchasing.
