Its primary aims are the promotion of critical awareness of editorial issues and practices and the provision of training in editorial methods. <em>Admissions to the Institute&#8217;s Ph.D. program are currently on hold.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>We note with sadness the passing of Professor Emeritus Sir Geoffrey Hill on 30 June 2016. Professor Hill was a founding Co-Director of the Institute, serving until his retirement in 2006.
