2021 Departmental Newsletter Published

Over 50 faculty, staff, students, and alumni contributed to this year’s redesigned annual newsletter, which nearly doubled in length. The content, though, remains familiar: a letter from the Chair, interviews, spotlights, awards, and research. A feature on Gus Papanek illuminates the Professor Emeritus’ significant role in developing a world-class economics department and profiles of master’s students reveal their experiences Learning fromĀ Anywhere.

Ubiquitous challenges of this past year, however, did not impede excellence: faculty Stacey Gelsheimer and Bob Margo as well as PhDs Ariel Kessel Akerman and Ian Meeker garnered distinction for their excellence in teaching while ten BA and MA students earned recognition for their service and academic achievements.
