Treicy Torres Memorial Environmental Justice Award Winner is Tami Gordon!
Treicy Torres was an Environmental Analysis and Policy major when she passed away in 2017 before completing her senior year. Treicy was a remarkable and inspirational woman who lived a life in service to her family, friends, and community. Treicy was dedicated to a career in community organizing and environmental justice.
Through their inspiring efforts, we are proud to present the Treicy Torres Memorial Environmental Justice award to this year’s winner, Tami Gordon!
Tami exemplifies the essence of the Treicy Torres award through their commitment to justice, advocacy, and community-centered environmental work. Whether advocating for accessible accommodations and dignified treatment for individuals with disabilities, this student brings both compassion and conviction to everything they do.
Tami’s work with the Massachusetts Climate Corps, the Sierra Club, and Mass Audubon has focused on elevating underrepresented voices and empowering communities, environmental education, and equitable climate policies. As a scholar, science communicator, and community leader, this student represents what it means to lead with purpose and sincerity.
