Earth & Environment Faculty Acknowledged in “Clarivate Highly Cited Researcher 2024”
Earth & Environment faculty Ranga Myneni, Benjamin Sovacool, and Curtis Woodcock were recognized as Clarivate Highly Cited Researchers 2024, making up 3 out of 10 Boston University professors on the list.
“Highly Cited Researchers are 1 in 1,000… Each researcher selected has authored multiple Highly Cited Papers which rank in the top 1% by citations for their field(s) and publication year in the Web of Science over the past decade.” -Clarivate
Authors must also receive recognition from an international and wide-ranging network of citing authors within their community.
Ranga Myneni was recognized as one of 141 international awardees in the Environment and Ecology category and one of 175 in the Geosciences category. Myneni primarily researches vegetation remote sensing with satellite data and climate-vegetation interactions.
Also an awardee in the Geosciences category, Curtis Woodcock’s research focuses on forest and vegetation remote sensing, environmental monitoring, land cover and land use change, terrestrial carbon dynamics, and digital image processing.
Benjamin Sovacool was recognized in the Social Sciences category out of 204 awardees. Sovacool’s research pertains to global energy policy and politics, energy security, energy justice, climate change mitigation, and climate change adaptation.
