I could not get my head around the notion that there was no criminal guilt for the assault that I, and millions of others, constantly watch on the news. Twenty-nine years later, I still struggle to be less anxious; less fearful, and more hopeful in these moments. I\u2019ve gotten by with opportunities for reflection; getting together with others; sharing stories; crying and laughing.<\/p>\n<p>Here are a few opportunities to reflect, come together, and share:<\/p>\n<p><strong>Daily reflection on<span>\u00a0<\/span><\/strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/president\/message-from-president-brown-the-chauvin-trial\/\"><strong>President Brown\u2019s Letter<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Join us for a daily reflection on President Brown\u2019s April 19,<span>\u00a0<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/president\/message-from-president-brown-the-chauvin-trial\/\">Message on the Chauvin Trial<\/a>. The daily reflection will begin at 8:30 AM (EST) for 9 minutes and 29 seconds of reflection \u2013 the length of time a knee was on the neck of George Floyd, resulting in his tragic death \u2013 led by a member of the University community. It is understandable if you still feel anxiety, anger or sadness and it may be helpful to talk to others about what you are feeling.\u00a0Boston University offers a range of supports and services for those who are experiencing stress or who may need a trained listener. Counseling services are available to students through<span>\u00a0<\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/www.bu.edu\/shs\/behavioral-medicine\/\">Student Health Services and<span>\u00a0Behavioral\u00a0Medicine<\/span><\/a><span>\u00a0<\/span>and through our spiritual leaders based at<span>\u00a0<\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/www.bu.edu\/chapel\/contact\/\">Marsh<span>\u00a0<\/span>Chapel<\/a>.
