The beach!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><em>by Tom Honsinger, Dean of Students Marketing and Strategic Communications Assistant<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Lying out on the BU Beach is great, but don\u2019t you wish the sounds of the passing cars were actually waves on the shore of a real beach?\u00a0\u00a0If you\u2019re in Boston for the summer, or are lucky enough to have some days warm enough to catch some rays by the water, then check out the beaches in and around Boston!<\/p>\n<p><b>Revere Beach<\/b>\u00a0is a popular beach that\u2019s around an hour away on the T, take the Green Line inbound and then take the Blue Line to Wonderland.\u00a0\u00a0The beach is huge so you\u2019ll be sure to get your own area, you just might have to leave a bit earlier since its further away.<\/p>\n<p><b>Carson Beach<\/b>\u00a0It takes under 40 minutes to get to Carson (take the Green Line and then the Red Line to JFK\/UMass) and in my experience, it\u2019s been quieter and less crowded.\u00a0\u00a0There are nets for beach volleyball as well as restrooms and food vendors.<\/p>\n<p><b>Spectacle Island\u00a0<\/b>is one of the islands in Boston Harbor and offers hiking trails in addition to a beach.\u00a0\u00a0Head to the Aquarium stop on the Blue Line and walk to the Long Wharf.\u00a0\u00a0You can buy a ferry ticket for $15 and after a 15 minute ferry ride, you\u2019re at the island.<\/p>\n<p><b>The Cape\u00a0<\/b>is perfect<b>\u00a0<\/b>if you\u2019re looking for a day-trip that is a bit further away.\u00a0\u00a0You can get to Hyannis via the CapeFLYER for $40 round trip (the train leaves from South Station).\u00a0\u00a0Once in Hyannis, there are a lot of surrounding beaches that you can get to by foot, bike or bus.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>by Tom Honsinger, Dean of Students Marketing and Strategic Communications Assistant Lying out on the BU Beach is great, but don\u2019t you wish the sounds of the passing cars were actually waves on the shore of a real beach?\u00a0\u00a0If you\u2019re in Boston for the summer, or are lucky enough to have some days warm enough [&hellip;]<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":3113,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":[],"categories":[3764],"tags":[],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/dos\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/4812"}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/dos\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/dos\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/post"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/dos\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/users\/3113"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/dos\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/comments?post=4812"}],"version-history":[{"count":5,"href":"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/dos\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/4812\/revisions"}],"predecessor-version":[{"id":4820,"href":"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/dos\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/4812\/revisions\/4820"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/dos\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=4812"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"category","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/dos\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/categories?post=4812"},{"taxonomy":"post_tag","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/dos\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/tags?post=4812"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
