Pause. College isn\u2019t here yet. You have a whole summer! So, Class of 2017, we present to you: 17 things to do Before BU.<\/p>\n
1. Take pictures.
\nYou will want to remember this!
\n2. Spend time with your family.
\nThey will miss you, and you will miss them more than you think.
\n3. Learn to do laundry.
\nDon\u2019t be \u201cthat freshman\u201d on the phone with their mom in the laundry room.
\n4. Do something outside of your comfort zone.
\nCollege is all about branching out! Start practicing.
\n5. Read.
\nDon\u2019t lose your smarts over the summer.
\n6. Develop an exercise routine.
\nBeware: Freshman 15. If you exercise at the start, it will be easier to keep it up.
\n7. Spend time with your friends.
\nObvious.
\n8. Have an updated r\u00e9sum\u00e9.
\nYou want to have one ready when opportunities arise. And they will.
\n9. Make a budget.
\nWho is paying for what? And how much is it?
\n10. Save money.
\nYou will need more than you think.
\n11. Break your cell phone addiction.
\nTwitter can wait. Now is the time to make new connections\u2026IN PERSON.
\n12. Enjoy orientation!
\nThis is such an exciting time, and a great opportunity to make friends.
\n13. Accept uncertainty.
\nYou don\u2019t know exactly what it will be like, and that\u2019s ok.
\n14. Cuddle with your pet.
\nThe only animals here are squirrels. They don\u2019t like cuddling.
\n15. Memorize your BU ID number.
\nAnd your social security number. Just do it.
\n16. Develop goals. And write them down.
\nBe clear. What do you want to accomplish next year?
\n17. Thank your parents.
\nThey worked so hard to get you here, and they will work hard to get you through.<\/p>\n
