However . . .<\/p>\n<p>The earthquakes, tornadoes, and floods have me thinking of loss. Appropriate remembrances for those lost. The culture and ways of life that may be lost. And, personally, being at a loss for what I should do.<br \/>\nI decided, amongst so many possibilities to take a time out. Time to better understand. Time to look out for someone other than myself. Time to help.<\/p>\n<p>Any number of us \u2013 on campus \u2013 are aware and present for you.  My staff and I can help with resources, if you need them.  And, we know people \u2013 we\u2019re loaded with info and can help you get to the right place or in front of the people you need. The good folk at <a title=\"BU Student Health Services - Behavioral Medicine\" href=\"http:\/\/www.bu.edu\/shs\/behavioral\/index.shtml\" target=\"_blank\">Behavioral Medicine<\/a> and <a title=\"Boston University Marsh Chapel\" href=\"http:\/\/www.bu.edu\/chapel\/\" target=\"_blank\">Marsh Chapel<\/a> can help you see and make sense of your sadness and suffering as well as the suffering of others.<\/p>\n<p>Peace to those of you who will show your love to the folks in East Asia and the American South. Stay safe and strong if you spend your summer helping on site. Thanks to those of you who will shed tears, feed, clothe, heal, or help a few people we do not know with your resources and comfort.<\/p>\n<p>Events like these make me question my achievements and my sense of comfort. At times, I also question how I make sense of my personal wholeness in relation to the world. I want to help. And, I recognize that what I can do may have limits.
