{"id":10185,"date":"2023-09-13T13:13:43","date_gmt":"2023-09-13T17:13:43","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/dos\/?p=10185"},"modified":"2023-09-13T13:19:58","modified_gmt":"2023-09-13T17:19:58","slug":"safety-awareness-for-everyone","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/dos\/2023\/09\/13\/safety-awareness-for-everyone\/","title":{"rendered":"Safety Awareness For Everyone"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><em>The following email was sent out to all students on Wednesday, September 13, 2023 from Dean Jason Campbell-Foster and Chief Safety, Security and Preparedness Officer Kelly Nee:<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Friends,<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">We are writing to ask for about an hour of your time to review the new <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/police\/safetyoncampus\/safe\/\">SAFE (Safety Awareness for Everyone)<\/a> resource; an elective, online training module that outlines the support provided by BUPD in the event of an active emergency. The training addresses BU\u2019s plan for a public safety response, while also providing tips and resources on how to keep yourself and others safe in the event of an active threat in our community.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Our greatest priority as a university is ensuring the safety and wellbeing of all of you, which means providing quick and effective communication during an emergency. \u00a0We recognize that the nature of this topic is sensitive, as emergencies can be triggering to some members of our community.
