Katy joins BU from Simmons College, where she served as Academic Advisor. At Simmons, her responsibilities included building and maintaining relationships with online, graduate students, consulting with faculty regarding student needs, and monitoring students’ academic progress. Previously, she held leadership roles focused on student life at Berklee College of Music and New College of Florida. Katy holds Masters’ of Science in Communication Management and of Arts in Gender/Cultural Studies and a Bachelor of Arts in Anthropology. She is excited to join the team at BU and is looking forward to hearing from you about how we can make BU a more equitable environment for our students.

As the Director of Student Outreach & Engagement, Katy will be responsible for nurturing an environment where students with different identities are welcomed, valued, given opportunities to grow, and have influence within Boston University and its communities. She will perform outreach to the experience of students who may identify as part of under-represented, marginalized, and minority groups, including but not limited to: LGBTQ-identified students; former Wheelock College students; transfer students; international students; commuting students; first-generation students; and, low-income students. Katy will promote intellectual and personal growth through academic and individual support, mentoring, outreach, educational trainings, workshops, and meaningful programs.
