As the Manager of Communications, Cindy researches, develops, and assesses the communication strategies and initiatives for Digital Learning & Innovation. In collaboration with other high-level leadership, she provides guidance and management for all communication and outreach engagement to promote and amplify the innovative work of the Office. Through this work she leverages her expertise in management, digital and multimodal media content creation, campaign development, technical and grant writing, outreach and engagement, and event planning and promotion.
Her education includes a Ph.D. in Communication from the University of Oklahoma, and a M.A. in Communication and B.A. in Journalism from California State University, Sacramento. As a leader in her field, she uses a results-oriented, pragmatic, and thoughtful approach to managing and optimizing the structural integrity of large communications programs while providing insights on the planning, performance, and implementation of messaging, media management, and stakeholder engagement strategies. As such, she has earned multiple awards for developing and implementing successful communication initiatives from the United States Department of Justice (DoJ), multiple members of Congress, and the Pentagon.
