Martin Luther King Jr. Day: A New Sense of Direction

On Monday, January 16, 2023, Mayor Michelle Wu and the City of Boston, along with Dean of Students, the Howard Thurman Center for Common Ground, and the Senior Diversity Officer, honored the life and legacy of Martin Luther King Jr. This event featured remarks from Mayor Wu and Dr. Andrea Kaylan,President of the New England Conservatory. It also included a keynote educational conversation with Dr. Derrick L Williams, Professor of Communication Studies at Cuyahoga Community College – Metropolitan Campus, and Nicholas Bates, Interim Director of the Howard Thurman Center for Common Ground.
