Join us to learn about the recently-launched Humanities Commons from Nicky Agate, Head of Digital Initiatives at the Modern Language Association. Humanities Commons is a new nonprofit network built by the MLA for people working across humanities and related fields.

Establish your online scholarly presence using this open-source platform. Network and collaborate in an environment where your data will not be sold. Join existing discussion groups, or start your own; create networked WordPress sites; archive and preserve your scholarship and open educational resources in a robust digital subject repository. All of this is available to humanities researchers irrespective of their discipline, institution, or location.

This workshop will introduce Humanities Commons. Agate will walk attendees through the activities described above, and speak to how this increases the impact of their work.

Register for the workshop below. Create a Humanities Commons account before the workshop if you wish. Questions? Contact Digital Scholarship Services at

Please note: adjacent to this workshop is DiSc Fundamentals: Publishing. Please register for both if you like!

This event is co-sponsored by the Office of the Associate Dean for the Humanities in the College of Arts & Sciences and BU Libraries’ Digital Scholarship Services.
