State-screened, nationally certified, etc.)<\/p>\n<p>\u25cf<span class=\"Apple-tab-span\"> <\/span>Years of holding certification<\/p>\n<p>In general, we follow the Massachusetts Commission for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (MCDHH) rate structure and aim to keep our rates above their current rates.<\/p>\n<p>Current Rate Structure is as follows:<\/p>\n<p>\u25cf<span class=\"Apple-tab-span\"> <\/span>Nationally Certified hearing interpreters are paid at a $55\/hr base rate + $3\/hr per 5 years of additional certified experience.<\/p>\n<p>\u25cf Hearing interpreters who have passed the NIC Knowledge Exam are paid at a flat rate of $40\/hour.<\/p>\n<p>\u25cf<span class=\"Apple-tab-span\"> <\/span>State screened hearing interpreters are paid at a flat rate of $35\/hr.<\/p>\n<p><b>Deaf Interpreter Rates<\/b>:<\/p>\n<p>Boston University pays providers as independent contractors.<\/p>\n<p>Our deaf interpreter rates are calculated based on the following factors:<\/p>\n<p>\u25cf<span class=\"Apple-tab-span\"> <\/span>Level of credentials (eg. State-screened, nationally certified, etc.)<\/p>\n<p>\u25cf<span class=\"Apple-tab-span\"> <\/span>Years of holding certification<\/p>\n<p>In general, we follow the Massachusetts Commission for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (MCDHH) rate structure and aim to keep our rates above their current rates.<\/p>\n<p>Current Rate Structure is as follows:<\/p>\n<p>Nationally Certified Deaf interpreters are paid at a $60\/hr base rate + $3\/hr per 5 years of additional certified experience. <span class=\"s2\">CDI rates start $5 above hearing interpreter rates.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>\u25cf Deaf interpreters who have passed the NIC Knowledge Exam are paid at a flat rate of $45\/hour.<\/p>\n<p>\u25cf<span class=\"Apple-tab-span\"> <\/span>State screened deaf interpreters are paid at a flat rate of $40\/hr.<\/p>\n<p>For<span class=\"s3\"><b> recent graduates<\/b><\/span> of interpreting programs and for those who are not yet certified, please go through our full on-boarding process and we will be happy discuss options where you might gain experience.<\/p>\n<p>As you are awarded additional credentials, please forward your award letters to the Coordinator of Deaf and Hard of Hearing Services, so that your hourly rate can be evaluated as appropriate. This can be done at any time. Instructions are below:<\/p>\n<p>1. Go to <a href=\"http:\/\/www.paymode.com\/bu\"><span class=\"s4\">www.paymode.com\/bu<\/span><\/a>. All adjustments to Direct Deposit information can be managed from this site.<\/p>\n<p>2. Click \u201cJoin Now\u201d and complete the form. (In the \u201cCorporate Tax ID\u201d field, enter \u201cEIN\u201d.)<\/p>\n<p>Please allow for up to eight weeks for Direct Deposit to take effect. Once Direct Deposit is in place, future invoices will be paid via this method.<\/p>\n<p><b>Payment<\/b>:<\/p>\n<p>Please submit invoices as soon as possible, ideally no later than 30 days after date of service.<\/p>\n<p>Payment can normally be expected three to four (3 &#8211; 4) weeks after invoice.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span><b>Please note<\/b>: We will need an completed <a href=\"https:\/\/www.irs.gov\/pub\/irs-pdf\/fw9.pdf\"><span class=\"s4\">W-9 Form<\/span><\/a> with your first invoice.
