Both the Dean\u2019s Advisory Board and the GSDM Alumni Association Board met during the 2015 Alumni Weekend<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

On Friday, September 25, during the 2015 Boston University Alumni Weekend, both the Boston University Henry M. Goldman School of Dental Medicine (GSDM) Dean\u2019s Advisory Board and the GSDM Alumni Association Board met to talk about new developments at GSDM.<\/p>\n

Dean\u2019s Advisory board<\/strong><\/p>\n

Meeting first, from 8:15 a.m. to 3:50 p.m. was the Dean\u2019s Advisory Board.<\/p>\n

After a welcome from Dean\u2019s Advisory Board Chair Dr. David Lustbader CAS 86 DMD 86, Dean Jeffrey W. Hutter gave a school update in which board members were informed of the latest developments at GSDM.<\/span><\/p>\n

A total of seven presentations followed Dean Hutter\u2019s remarks. The presenters, and their presentations, were:<\/span><\/p>\n

  • Associate Professor, Department of Molecular & Cell Biology Dr. Paola Pajevic: \u201cGSDM Research in Space.\u201d<\/li>\n
  • Noble Biocare President Mr. Tom Olsen: \u201cNoble Biocare Presentation.\u201d<\/li>\n
  • Associate Dean for Clinical Affairs and Clinical Associate Professor in the Department of General Dentistry Dr. John Guarente DMD 89; Director of Clinical Operations & Finance Mr. John Reilly: \u201cUpdate on Clinical Operations.\u201d<\/li>\n
  • Clinical Instructor in the Department of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery Dr. David Lustbader CAS 86 DMD 86<\/span>; Dr. Mina Paul: \u201cFuture of Organized Dentistry.\u201d<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    After closing remarks from Dr. Lustbader CAS 86 DMD 86<\/span>, the Dean\u2019s Advisory Board adjourned and headed off to prepare for their attendance at the Alumni Reception.<\/p>\n

    Alumni Board<\/strong><\/p>\n

    From 1:30 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Friday, September 25, the Alumni Board met.<\/p>\n

    After an introduction from Chair of the Alumni Board, Dr. Bing Liu DSc 99 DMD 03, new members were introduced. The new members are: Dr. Gigi Meinecke DMD 88, Dr. Gary Nord DMD 10, Dr. Sepideh Novid DMD 04 AEGD 05, Dr. Loubna Pla MSD 08, and Dr. Shervin Tabeshfar CAGS 10, CAGS 13, MSD 13<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

    Dean Hutter gave a GSDM update which was followed by updates from Director of Alumni Relations & Annual Giving Stacey McNamee as well as Clinical Associate Professor in the Department of General Dentistry, Assistant Dean of Students, and Director of Geriatric Dental Medicine Dr. Joseph Calabrese DMD 91, AEGD 92<\/strong><\/p>\n

    The Alumni Board then reviewed By-Law Committee recommendations and moved forward with the creation of a new Strategic Plan before adjourning.<\/p>\n
