Hutter, Jose Abrahantes DMD 17, Michael Whitcomb DMD 17, Ms. Amy Nelson, Dr. Joseph Calabrese<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>The American Dental Association (ADA) Foundation recently selected two Boston University Henry M. Goldman School of Dental Medicine (GSDM) students\u2014Jose Abrahantes DMD 17 and Michael Whitcomb DMD 17\u2014to receive Pre-doctoral Dental Student Scholarships.<\/p>\n<p>The ADA Foundation awards 54 education scholarships in 4 categories annually to academically gifted dental students from across the country. To be eligible for consideration, students must attend an accredited dental school full-time and be in the second year of study while maintaining at least a 3.25 grade point average.<\/p>\n<p>Student Affairs Coordinator Ms. Amy Nelson was instrumental in the nomination process of Abrahantes\u2014 who received the Underrepresented Minority Dental Student Scholarship\u2014and Whitcomb\u2014who received the Pre-doctoral Dental Student Scholarship. Both awards were for $2,500.<\/p>\n<p>On May 29, 2015, Dean Jeffrey W. Hutter met with Abrahantes and Whitcomb to congratulate them on their awards. Assistant Dean of Students Dr. Joseph Calabrese, <span>Associate Dean for Academic Affairs<\/span>\u00a0Dr. Cataldo Leone, and Ms. Nelson were also present at the meeting.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cCongratulations to Jose and Michael on receiving these scholarships,\u201d said Dean Jeffrey W.
