I didn't major in a science; can I apply to dental school?<\/strong><\/h3>

Yes. While most of our applicants and accepted students have science majors, we welcome strong candidates from business, liberal arts, fine arts, and other backgrounds. If you\u2019re a non\u2011science major, we strongly recommend completing upper\u2011level science coursework beyond the required prerequisites or enrolling in a post\u2011baccalaureate pre\u2011dental program to strengthen your academic preparation before applying.<\/p>\n

My undergrad GPA isn\u2019t that strong (or I\u2019m a nontraditional applicant or in another line of work), but I really want to practice dentistry. Can I still apply?<\/strong><\/h3>

Yes. Many applicants in the same situation strengthen their candidacy by completing a master\u2019s program in the biomedical sciences. Graduate study demonstrates your ability to succeed in an intensive academic environment and provides recent evidence of your academic preparation for the Admissions Committee to evaluate.<\/p>\n

What is the DMD class size?<\/strong><\/h3>

We seat 117 students in the DMD entering class.<\/p>\n

I\u2019m still in school \u2013 do I have to finish all the pre-reqs before I apply to GSDM?<\/strong><\/h3>

No, but you must complete all prerequisite courses and earn a bachelor\u2019s degree before starting the DMD program. GSDM requires you to have successfully completed a set of science prerequisites.<\/p>\n

Does GSDM have in-state\/out-of-state quotas?<\/strong><\/h3>

Boston University is a private institution, so state of residence does not have a bearing on your eligibility.<\/p>\n

Yes, all students who have earned bachelor\u2019s degree at an accredited U.S. or Canadian college\/university are eligible to enroll.<\/p>\n

Yes, GSDM offers financial awards that are offered to select students. Decisions are made by the Admissions Committee, and awards are communicated at the time of acceptance; there is no additional application necessary.<\/p>\n

Do you give campus tours to prospective students?<\/strong><\/h3>

As the dental school is a working clinical facility, we are not able to give tours to prospective students. There are also various tour and \u201cday in the life\u201d videos available on our YouTube channel<\/a>.<\/p>\n
