CURA: "Special Men - Affect and Authority in Apocalyptic movements"

Colloquium with Nicole Correri, PhD Student, Islamic Studies, Religion This paper explores how non-hegemonic men in apocalyptic milieus, making careful comparisons between QAnon and Shi'i movements, attempt to redeem authority and power in the face of political crisis, defeat, and loss. Of interest is how power circulates and is amplified by apocalyptic milieus that are affectively charged with secrecy and special insider status.
